Rectangular casting suits trays, tabletops and box-shaped molds. Round / cylinder suits circular molds. Surface coating uses length, width and a separate coating thickness unit.
Rectangle: length × width × depth
Cylinder: π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × depth

About the estimate
All dimensions are converted to inches before the volume is calculated. The final amount includes your waste allowance. Surface absorption and uneven substrates may require more material than a geometric estimate.
